Thrift Store Finds

Of all the posts I write, the ones that continually get the most views, is the ones
about what I buy at the thrift store.  I guess we all like to see what others buy.
Usually, what I want most is what someone 2 seconds in front of me just claimed,
but sometimes I get lucky.

When my husband and I had a Saturday all to ourselves and he told me he would take me wherever I wanted to go, I didn't have to think long about where I wanted to go.
Here's what I bought with the price and even the why I bought it.

Rooster $4.99
He will go perfect with the other chickens in my yard.

 Shadow box house 4.99
It will get a new coat of paint and be perfect in the sun room.
(sticker price 24.99 still on bottom)

Strawberry placemats 49 cents each.
I have a weakness for placemats and I love strawberries,
and because I always see strawberry dishes in thrift stores and I
think I will start collecting some.  I need more dishes.  HA.

Dishtowel 49 cents.
Not something I usually buy, but hey....it still had the tag on it!
Dollie 1.25
St. Patrick's day is coming and I felt I needed something green.

White pitcher 1.99
I have recently started collecting these.
Getting home a realizing it's a McCoy numbered piece.....score!
Planter 1.99
I have a pretty big collection of old planters.
I will have to show you one day.

Blue Mason Jars 8.00 each.
I will admit this was my splurge, but I wanted to add some more
to my collection.  I use them in my pantry to store things in.
An antique store that I visit has a whole wall of these for $8 each.
That is really cheaper than I can buy them on ebay with shipping charges.

Small milk bottle 4.00 to add to my collection.
Large jar 9.00
I found this jar in another antique store.  It will be perfect
for storing oatmeal.

Ahhh, this ole muffin pan 7.49
I have literally been picking this up in the same antique store for 2 years.
It always speaks to me.  I always want it.
When I brought it home it said, "What took you so long?"

Wall shelf 4.99
It will get a coat of Heirloom White paint and will hold what is
quickly becoming a creamer collection in the dining room.
Caddy 2.99
It will also be painted white and maybe I'll get brave enough to try a water slide decal.

Here's a peek of old stuff I have bought on ebay recently.
I LOVE old kitchen stuff.  I use them all and they make my food photos more interesting.
I love imagining where they have been and who has used them years ago.

A day of thrifting, antiquing, a BLT at Cracker Barrel and then a stop by Dunkin Donuts.
My kind of day.
Could it get any better?

Even funnier is when you see things in the thrift store that you know another blog friend would love.
...these friends you know so well, but have never met.
