Top 10 Things I Love About the Christmas Season
10. An excuse to eat fudge.
9. The cozy feeling of sitting near the Christmas tree each night.
This year, I only decorated 1 tree instead of the ten I have been known to do.
I don't need the stress....I have bigger things to think about.
8. Driving down the road and saying, "Christmas lights on my side, Christmas lights on your side."
7. Enjoying the beautiful decorations at church.
6. The special Christmas musical programs at church.
This year, I'm focusing on the simple.
5. Watching my children open their gifts.
4. Cooking special things for my family.
3. Watching It's a Wonderful Life...quoting most of the movie and crying again at the end.
2. Going to sleep that one night with all of my children under my roof again.
And the #1 thing I love....
Being part of a Christmas Eve candle light service. A time to step away from the noise to a place of peace and concentrate on the real meaning of Christmas. Taking the time to worship an incredible God who loved you and me enough to come to earth in human flesh and be born in a lowly manger.
I'm making it a stress free Christmas.
I don't want to miss the real reason for the season.
My thoughts and prayers are with the many who are hurting,
and for a dear friend who is extremely ill this season.
May we all experience the peace that only Christ gives this Christmas.
And may we be a light in the darkness.
And may we be a light in the darkness.

Beautiful, important words. The blessings of having your children under one roof, services at church, even the fudge (or its equivalent in each family).
